Robert Pearson is a scholar at The Middle East Institute, president of American Diplomacy Publishers, past president of IREX, an international humanitarian development NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) based in Washington, operating in more than 125 countries worldwide and a 30-year veteran of the Foreign Service who served as U.S. ambassador to Turkey (2000-2003) and was Director General of the U.S. Foreign Service.
